The Idea That Drives Us

Global logistics and value creation networks (supply chains) have evolved into highly complex, tightly interconnected systems. A wide range of stakeholders and regions around the world are linked through multi-layered, networked flows of goods, information, and capital.

The shift of attention on other functional areas, combined with temporary disruptions, and prolonged crises has demonstrated how vulnerable supply chains can be. Supply chain costs often account for a significant share of total costs — and supply chains frequently determine success or failure.

The growing strategic importance of supply chains and the accelerating pace of change make it clear that decision-makers must rethink their approach. Successful organizations treat supply chains as a central strategic asset. They develop multiple future scenarios for their logistics and value creation networks. Tomorrow’s success depends on the level of preparedness and the ability to adapt. Only then can early signals of change be interpreted correctly – and the right decisions taken.
